Import of multiple files is slow

Hi

I have created a Revit application that imports all dwg files in a folder. I import the dwg files in the way described in this post: http://thebuildingcoder.typepad.com/blog/2015/09/svg-in-memory-family-creation-and-revitlookup-bounding-box-1.html

The problem is that my application must import a lot of dwg files which makes this a very slow process. I also see that the view is updated between every file I import. Is there a better way of importing many files? Or can the update view be turned off to improve the speed or maybe import everything to a file in memory so there is no active view to update?
